Bargello's Key Strengths

Bargello Skill Give the Signal Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent

Versatile Attacker: Bargello shines with a range of potent abilities, including Perseverante, a high-potency 2-hit dagger skill; Raffica, a four-hit AoE dagger attack that targets wind weakness (damage calculation based on Physical dagger attack); and Astuto, a 3-hit dagger attack that gets 30% more potency if enemy has their Dagger Resistance lowered (also targets wind weakness).

Damage Multiplier: His Perseverante dagger skill at max boost can reach a 1,200 potency, making it one of the most powerful skills in the game, but will consume 100 SP of each ally on the field. With the optimal setup, this skill can deal 149,999 damage x 2, dealing a total of 300k damage in one break turn.

Buffing Expert: Bargello can boost the entire front row PAtk, EAtk, Wind and Dagger damage by 15% each, while raising the damage cap by 30k.

Ultimate's Dual Utility: Recovers SP for all allies and restores the number of times ultimate moves can be used, making it versatile for both short and long-term battles.

Strong Buffing Passives: Boosts Dagger and Wind damage for the entire front row by 10% each. When broken enemy is present, he also boosts front row PAtk and EAtk by 15% while raising the damage cap by 20k.

Extra Skills: Some extra skills worth mentioning are his single target PDef and EDef 20% debuff and his Sidestep skill to dodge physical attacks.

Bargello's Weaknesses

Bargello Skill Perseverante Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent

Perseverante High SP Needs: To get the max potential of this skill, Bargello must consume 810 SP (10 SP from skill + 100 SP from each party member).

High SP Consumption: Bargello's high SP-consuming abilities require careful management and support for sustained effectiveness. SP accessories or SP regen allies will be needed in longer battles.

Ultimate Limitation: It cannot restore a non-used ultimate nor add extra ultimate uses beyond the maximum amount. This move will only work when other units have already used their ultimate.

Characters Who Shine Alongside Bargello

Bargello is almost an universal unit in terms of compatibility. He can be included in almost any team thanks to its universal buffs and damage cap skills.

In an optimal situation, Bargello's buffs combined can reach 30% PAtk, 30% EAtk, 25% Dagger damage, 25% Wind damage and +50,000 Damage cap.

Best units to pair Bargello with:

  • Dagger/Wind Attackers: Characters like Falco, Therion, A2, Tikilen, Odette, EX Sofia, and Sonia synergize well with Bargello’s buffs.
  • 1-Hit Ultra-High Firepower Attackers: Characters such as Herminia, Aedelgard, Olberic, Leon, or Krauser also pair effectively with Bargello, capitalizing on his ability to increase damage caps.

Best Equipment for Bargello

Bargello is a great dagger DPS and an amazing support character. As with most DPS units, he greatly benefits from a high PAtk stat.

For Orsterra content, you should equip him with a Dagger of Fortune focused on PAtk to deal as much damage as possible in Arena, Gameboard and Tower challenges.

For Hell content, you should equip him with a dagger that maximizes damage against hellfiends and raises his damage cap. Currently, the Abyss weapon series is the best for Bargello.

Awakening Stone Priority

Bargello A4 Accessory Cuffs of the Family Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent

Bargello is the first unit we recommend getting A4 AND U10. He is viable without any dupes, but having extra stats, skill slots, survivability and his A4 accessory makes him a top-tier unit.

Bargello’s A4 accessory, Cuffs of the Family, stands out as the best in the game, offering +100 PAtk, +40 SP, and an unconditional 100,000 damage cap increase. When an enemy is broken, grants 20 SP recovery, pairing extremely well with Bargello's needs.

His ultimate is fine at U9, but having 2 uses can reset twice all other unit's ultimate usage, making it an excellent upgrade.

For the most efficient upgrade strategy, you should prioritize: A4 → U10

Should you Pull for Bargello?

Bargello Step Up Banner Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent

He is the best buffer for dagger and wind teams and the only unit in GL who can raise the party's damage cap, making him an extremely valuable addition to any team composition.

Bargello is a must have unit and many CotC players have been waiting for this banner for a long time.

If you have the rubies for pity (only 4,500 for Memory Travelers), he's worth going all in.

Update: Square Enix just announced that when completing Step 5 of his Step Up Banner (Paid rubies), you'll get a Bargello's Sacred Seal regarding the outcome of your pull. If you're a spender, this banner will greatly help to get A4 U10 Bargello faster.
